Typography 16 - To The Brain. by princepoo Typography 16 - To The Brain. by princepoo
After almost a month since Fifteen, I'm back. And three months since Fourteen. An amazing amount of time has passed, yet my voice has remained the same. Arial Black and Garamond. My photo, traced in shaky vector shapes. [Setup for the photo involved a blowdryer and a mirror for reference.] A rocky explosion of thought, sound expressed in shapes, taste expressed in colors. The grey matter has a life of its own, as do the words at the bottom. As always, they are independent of each other, but speak together. 16mm? Film. There are many variations of this, of the words and their placement, but I'm happy with this. I'm confused, scared, and unsure of the future. But I'm happy, satisfied, and enjoying my life. Come what may, I'll be ready.

I'm alive. I'm living, breathing, hoping, dreaming. I'm still the person that was standing in front of the dark castle in [link] , but I'm not as afraid of the future as I was then. I've grown, if even just a little.

Enjoy. Connect. Experience.

*sigh* I really like this. Why are you so good? I don't know how to comment anymore cause I'll feel lame just repeating myself on how I think you're so damn good. :/ the way, look I'm not banned anymore. I can sign in and comment! YAY!-

Im playing with this sort of stuff at the moment, i just saw it on :daprints: and had to come and comment. A very nice mix or text with some crazy ass vectors, im liking this alot, and the colors. Black and white > everything else.

Overall a great deviation!

I see the jugller of words
unheard, but not unseen
He watches and creates
uses his intuition to match
the letters one by one
building the lines to form
out of nothing
a perfect number sixteen

Simply mindblowing :+fav:

Wow. hot stuff, dude. you've got something. i love the expression of blowing out your brains onto a canvas.. i guess it is an allegory for all art.
+ gold star.
amazing stuff you've got..
NOT amazing thing stuff got. haha
i am unsure what you are going through and unsure what 17 means but feel that i can relate to the confusions and the feeling of unclear future.

Feeling so confused, so lost as to what direction things are turning but at the same time the plain and simple things seem so beautiful and there is a kind of enjoyment that life gives. Confusing process but one that i appreciate.

amazing thing stuff got! :)
your work does well to my mind!

The only word that comes to my exhausted mind is "breathtaking"... :)

Wow, that is powerful. What program did you use to make it? Photoshop?
princepoo Featured By Owner Nov 18, 2003
yes, all photoshop + one of my photos.

i've always loved your words, such that few of mine will ever suffice to describe how yours make me feel. the last few lines remind me of an alanis morissette song ... "you live, you learn; you breathe, you learn; you lose, you learn...." etc....take it as a compliment.

what's troubling is that i see a vectored gun pointed at a vectored head...hopefully not yours. you seem so inquisitive and curious about life that i would think you'd be the last to ever contemplate suicide.

hope all is well,

to me, the image of the gun to the head is more of a visual representation of the contemplation i'd been going through. spraying my insides out, bearing my mind to the world, exposing my inner thoughts. don't worry about me throwing my life away just yet. :)

you're right, though. i'm far too curious and amazed by life to ever think of ending my own.

thank you.

Wow, very neat, yes. There's a lot being said here, and it's obvious to the intuition and still available to analysis. Very good.

you did grow up - right along with the other people around you...

i notice no pure blacks ... it's a world of grey-areas... things aren't so black and white anymore are they?

i see you in there - hair whipped back by an unseen current and your mind spilling out
(do i see "cello"?)
dark beautiful eyes, long hair (is it soft enough?)
and a gunpoint (whether intentional or not, i see it)

you've gotten to 16- and i like it better than seven.

I love it. I relate to it. It reminds me of a poem in this book I've got called "words that hurt," or something of the like. I wish I was able to find that book so I could show you the poem. It's more the image that makes me relate to it...something about how a poet speaks like a 16mm gun(maybe it was a different number, but that was so long ago)

And this brings me to one of my favorite quotes; I said it, but I know it was said before me by someone or another: "Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words are ammunition"

I think you've shown that point, quite well I might add.
