there was a slow groaning sound as the ground
erupted, a tired sigh. the ghosts watched quietly
before turning into crows and flying away. buildings
poured out from the gash in the landscape,
rusted and beaten with time. the whole thing was
like some disgusting belch, a release, a purging
of some monster that had been lying dormant just
under the skin of the planet. the sky turned white,
everything else dimmed and blurred away. it was
a soft-toned destruction, a collapse played in reverse,
telephone poles and wires spidering like cracked
mirrors in the air. we are a world of borrowed imagery,
the buildings seemed to say, a sin of the flesh.
they crawled higher, piling like some morbid scaffolding,
reaching, pulling itself out of the earth. we are simply
the forgotten, they said, just metaphors of better worlds.
a gasp, quiet, but infinite, escaped from the depths. they,
it, the monster disappeared as quickly as it came, and all
that was left was a scar on the landscape, a ragged tombstone.
a shadow who had stayed behind stood up, stretched its wings, and flew into memory.
man this piece is incredible. The discription works really well with the main picture, You have really captured this erruption of building and matter you have described. i particually like the one solitory person watching this whole event unfolding. instant +fav

This is really wild! I love picking out all of the elements and then seeing how all of them go together and compliment each other. The color looks awesome as well.

I like this but,
1. The bottom foreground looks on the verge between 2d and 3d and is strange.
2. Certain parts of it look too mosaic.
3. The long "claw" extending from the subject to the right side of the page doesn't feel right there.

i love how you pile things up, and the little man watching. " of some monster that had been lying dormant just
under the skin of the planet."

it's funny how that sounds pessimistic but feels completely euphoric,
like your looming construction with its protruding limbs.
