Phot07 - Telepoles. by princepoo Phot07 - Telepoles. by princepoo
Remember that day I went around, taking photos of telephone poles all day?

Forty some pictures?

This is what happened to the rest of them.
Swallowed up in a tornado of blacks and whites. Beauty in chaos.

Wow. This just took my breath away. Look at the world we live in, huh.

Black & white works perfectly for this and from the preview screen I wondered if some of those powerline poles were actually typography. The slight pinch of gray in sporadic areas just adds that much more static and dimension to the piece. It's well-deserved for its National recognition, this one.

After I browsed through your gallery, I notice how your pictures tend to be enigmatic, and slightly unnerving, not the subject matter, but the way you present them. LIke this for instance, the black and white is so clear cut that it makes it seem as if this chaos of telephone polls is so matter of fact, so there yet it's clearly out of control. Just not in a out of control manner.
.... I make no sense, but I just want you to know that I react strongly your pictures

There is a reason I put you on my watchlist, not only are you a friend of mine on this site, but your an amazingly talented artist with a very skewed angle on things... ( Which isn't a bad thing .. believe you me. ).. This is an extremely good example of your talent.

Awesome job.

LOVE the composition and how you managed to actually ground the whole thing. looks like perhaps you have a couple little spots in the white space over the bottom right pole, though. intentional? can't tell. anyway, about the white always manage to make it just as interesting as everything else.

it looks like some sort of industrial monster... excellent work.

Our of all the ones ive just looked at I like this one the best. To be quite honest, I think we share a similar style, this does remind me alot of [link] but its also a contast because it's quite clean where as mine is more gritty. Either way I really like this as well as the ideas behind it. Nice work.

For some reason this didn't show up in my messages this morning. :: sighs ::

Anyway, this seems to be a newer or reocurring theme of yours to do combination photo-manipulations with high contrast and usually monochromatic or just black and white.

It's working really well for you, but for some reason, I miss your photographs. Go take some more. :P

 Beautiful image you've created, too. It seems very fitting to society today. A chaotic mess of wires.

Very nice outtake. What is so amazing about your work is that you always define your ground level at an unusual place and everything grows from it regardless of gravity. Very k00l.
princepoo Featured By Owner Jun 6, 2004
thanks! i've never really thought about that, it's interesting to see other people's observations about my work. i suppose it just comes rather subconsciously.
