I like the contrast between the lights and darks. It gives the stone a very solid feeling. I love it. :D

I love the static movement of this piece. Form, hierarchy and contradisposition combine in a harmonious synchrony that truly emphasizes this place as a site of intellectual birth, an axis mundi connecting schollarly secularism with pious transcendence.

At least, that's what they'd say in architecture 170.
